Stewart Stropp is Vice President, Automotive Retail at J.D. Power. He is responsible for the company’s U.S. syndicated retail research including flagship studies Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) and Customer Service Index (CSI). His team further manages a variety of proprietary research engagements including enterprise-level strategic consulting, sales and service retention programs and localized customer experience consulting and training.
Prior to his current role, Stewart served as executive director of the EV practice at J.D. Power, where he was responsible for optimizing and leveraging the company’s intelligence to help clients and stakeholders accelerate EV adoption. He regularly provided perspective on the industry’s electrified future at trade events and in media outlets like Forbes, Associated Press, Automotive News, InsideEVs and The Drive.
Stewart’s role in the EV practice followed an expansive body of work at J.D. Power focused on the automotive retail experience with projects and services including standards development, retail operations consulting (digital and in-store), analysis of consumer behaviors, assessment of marketplace evolution (including EVs) and nationwide speaking tours.
Stewart’s career started in the Marketing, Sales, & Service division at Ford Motor Company. After transferring from headquarters to the field to assume various management roles, he returned to headquarters to pursue strategic leadership assignments including field operations manager, Quick Lane® national marketing manager and marketing manager, Global Small Cars.
Stewart holds a Master’s degree in business administration from Mays Business School at Texas A&M University and a Bachelor’s degree in liberal arts from the University of Texas.
