Session Development

Use these resources to plan, develop, and deliver an effective session.

GOAL

Identify a clear goal for your presentation. What key issue or challenge will your presentation address?

CONTENT

Keep your topic focused and avoid promotion. Share scalable takeaways with practical tips and use stories to make your message memorable.

FORMAT

Based on your session format (ie. keynote or panel), which tools, visuals, or prepared questions will help engage the audience?

Guidelines

SESSION TITLE
Your session title should grab attention, be genuine, and clearly convey the topic—even for those who only read the headline. Aim for an engaging and informative title that encourages attendees to learn more. (8 words or less)

SESSION DESCRIPTIONS
Your session description should clearly explain how the session will benefit participants or their organizations. Highlight why the topic matters now, and what in it for the attendees. (Four to five short sentences; 75 – 100 words)

KEY TAKEAWAYS
What are your three key action items for this session? These are the main objectives participants should remember and reinforced throughout your presentation to keep your content focused and impactful.

· Start with an action verb in present tense
· Must be measurable - do not use “know” or “understand”
· No more than one learning objective per 15-20 minutes of session time.

POWERPOINT TIPS:
· Upload your presentation and any font files to Syncplicity on time
· Bring a backup copy of your presentation on a flash drive
· If using videos, embed in presentation and upload original video files to Syncplicity
· Less text and more visuals are more impactful on slides
